BioWorks, Inc. Announces Label Expansion in California

Victor, New York (November 14, 2001) - BioWorks, Inc. announced today that the California Department of Pesticide Regulation has approved BioWorks' request for a greatly expanded label for RootShield Granules which is based on the patented living fungus Trichoderma harzianum strain T-22.

The new label now includes all vegetables, herbs, spices, mints, hydroponic crops, bedding plants, ornamentals and nursery crops, as well as most trees, fruits, vines and nuts. RootShield Granules can be incorporated in to potting soils, nursery planting mixes, applied in-furrow or in the planting hole for trees and shrubs. In addition, the newly approved label allows a 0-hour re-entry interval (REI). Workers are able to re-enter treated areas with no time restraints and without added protective equipment. And finally, the new label includes the root diseases Cylindrocladium and Thielaviopsis, along with the previously existing root rots Pythium, Rhizoctonia and Fusarium, for which RootShield Granules provides preventative disease control.

BioWorks, Inc., a privately held company, provides environmentally responsible biological solutions that create value for customers, employees and investors. BioWorks is a founding member of the BioPesticide Industry Alliance.
