VICTOR, N.Y. - December 28, 2000 - BioWorks, Inc. announced today that it has signed an exclusive supply and distribution agreement with Koppert Biological Systems B.V., of the Netherlands, to market and sell BioWorks' horticultural products in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, France and Spain. These horticultural products are based on the patented fungal organism, Trichoderma harzianum strain T-22 ("T-22"), developed at Cornell University over 15 years ago. Commenting on the agreement, Bill Foster, Chairman, President and CEO of BioWorks stated "We are pleased that Koppert sees the same opportunity for T-22, as we do at BioWorks, as a safe and very effective product. Additionally, this agreement with Koppert represents the first of many such agreements as we implement our International sales and marketing strategy." The agreement with Koppert is focused on the European horticulture market, which includes ornamental plants, flowers and bulbs, and fruits and vegetables. Koppert will benefit from BioWorks experiences and successes in the United States horticulture market. And in turn, BioWorks will benefit as Koppert gains experiences in their European markets.
